We got the news late April this year, success with our first funding application. We were awarded National Lottery Awards for all Community funding enabling us to develop and deliver our first woodworking courses set to start in August 2019.
We will run introductory day workshops and a longer 6 day course that will span 6 weeks starting in September 2019. The funding provides us the means to reach out into our community and offer the courses for free to local people currently suffering from homelessness and unemployment.
The introductory course will introduce working tools and techniques, timber, and basic timber frame joinery. The 6 day course will cover all aspects of the construction process involved in the building of a lifecraft cabin. There will be time for students to develop skills with hand tools and experience working in a team in a workshop environment.
Planning for this project is in its early stages, however we will have more details up soon, as well as details on how you can enrol on one of our educational courses.
